“The fact that I didn’t play for almost six months wasn’t pleasant. But when you have a chance to prove yourself you must do it,”
“You just have to wait for your moment and score goals. If I scored every time I would be in the team all the time, no doubts.
“I hope this year it won’t be the same story. To be honest, in the last year when I didn’t play much I had thoughts about returning to Russia.
“Now I do not want to move back.”
When asked about the continued support from the Tottenham faithful:
“Indeed it is very helpful. All the time when I come out on the pitch I have thoughts to pay back the fans by scoring a goal.
“Tottenham fans are something special to me. I really fell in love with them and probably will always love them.
“I’m very thankful to them and will respond to this with more goals and good play.” (SkySports)
