Tottenham bowed out of the Champions League at White Hart Lane last night as Harry Redknapp’s men were defeated 1-0 by Real Madrid (5-0 on aggregate). Spurs goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes made yet another mistake, but Redknapp has insisted that his number one will bounce back as Tottenham set their sights on the top four.
Elsewhere Chelsea are lining up a new boss to replace Carlo Ancelotti in the summer, with Dutch pair Guus Hiddink and Marco van Basten both in the frame. Rio Ferdinand has started the war of words ahead of Manchester United’s FA Cup semi final tie with City this weekend, and Aston Villa have slapped a £25 million price tag on in-demand winger Ashley Young.
